Subject: Keeping a promise
Dear40 years ago we committed to investing 0.7% of our national income in UK aid. 4 years ago all major UK political parties said they would enshrine that commitment in law. On Friday 12th September, that promise could be fulfilled with the second reading of the International Development Bill.
All we want from your MP is a promise to be there.
The rules in parliament are complicated, but if 100 supportive MPs turn up, we’ve got a good chance of turning this long-held pledge into law.

By keeping the UK’s aid promise to spend just 0.7% of national income on aid – less than a penny in the pound – millions of lives will be changed for the better.
Thank you,
