President Obama, This holiday season, there are a lot of things I'm thankful for, but I'm especially thankful for our country's role in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Because of the U.S.'s investments in programs like PEPFAR and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria, we've made incredible strides. 15 million people are now alive on antiretroviral treatment and the elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV is within reach. These are accomplishments that seemed impossible a generation ago. Despite these amazing successes, we can't be complacent now - millions more people around the world depend on American leadership. As the Global Fund comes into a critical replenishment in 2016, please make sure the United States continues to contribute the maximum amount possible - one-third of all contributions - with your FY2017 budget request. Your continuous support for the Global Fund will send a strong message to the rest of the world and bring us closer to an AIDS-free generation.
