Bangladesh faces an array of climate hazards, from cyclones to dangerously high salt levels in soil, but has had success in adapting to change. Zambia, where droughts have hit hydropower, has effectively scaled up solar energy to compensate.
Taking place during the Cop27 climate talks in Egypt, this ThinkIn will ask: what lessons can be learned from adaptation and transition in the global South? And, when the hard limits of adaptation are reached, what must compensation look like to address the impacts of climate shocks?
How can the world’s leaders be made to work together around policies and financing to address climate calamity, particularly in highly vulnerable countries?
