We can’t stay down for the count
If the fight against the COVID pandemic were a boxing match between our global health system and the virus, after 7 rounds our governments are close to throwing in the towel against the spread of the COVID. They are also considering resigning from pre-scheduled matches against AIDS, TB, and Malaria because of injuries sustained in their fight against COVID.
Decades of important work to fight preventable diseases and strengthen global health are at risk. This is not the time to throw in the towel and retreat. It’s not time to stay down for the count and allow COVID to score a knockout.
It's time to finish the fight against AIDS, TB and Malaria and build a pandemic-proof global health system. Canada must be a leader in this fight and we need Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to be our champion.
It's not time to tap out yet. Instead, it's time to fight for what counts.
