Energy Poverty

The House recently passed a bill that will bring electricity to 50 million people in Africa for the first time. Now, it's time for the US Senate to do the same.

The Senate just introduced the Energize Africa Act.  Why is this such a big deal? Because in sub-Saharan Africa, 7 out of 10 people don’t have access to electricity. Moms give birth in the dark. Families can’t refrigerate their food. Kids are forced to do their homework at night with just a candle or a flashlight.

Add your name and let our senators know it's time to energize Africa.

Dear Congress,

Please help electrify Africa by supporting the bill that will provide 50 million people with access to electricity for the first time. This bill will transform people's lives - and keep us on track to end extreme poverty by 2030.
