Tell your MP East Africa Can't Wait

In East Africa, there is a severe shortage of food due to a deadly combination of climate change, conflict and the global cost of living crisis.

Countries are facing the worst drought in 40 years. Huge loss of life is already unfolding, with an estimated death every 36 seconds from starvation or a hunger-related disease. In Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya and South Sudan, millions of people are on the brink of famine.

The UK Government pledged to 'spare no effort' to protect those most at risk. But so far, they have taken little action to stop this preventable crisis.

But, it doesn't need to be this way. We know it’s possible to avert widespread famine and reduce the scale of the crisis. It’s been done before. In 2017, together we pushed the UK government to direct £861 million to tackle hunger in the region. Sixteen million lives were saved.

Will you write to your MP now demanding the UK steps up to keep its promises to those in East Africa? Together, we can make sure the UK joins its international partners in avoiding a catastrophic loss of life.

Once you've taken action, please increase your impact by sharing this page for others to take action too. Thank you.
