As you know, the Administration is currently withholding $600 million for Gavi, Vaccine Alliance that was appropriated by Congress. This money will expire on September 30, 2026 without action.

For 26 years, Gavi has vaccinated more than 1.2 billion children, saved more than 20 million lives, and successfully graduated 19 countries to self-sufficiency. Gavi also maintains the Global Ebola Vaccine Stockpile, and is considering how best to surge resources to combat the new Ebola strain impacting countries across Africa. Unfortunately, the U.S. is withholding funding to Gavi due to HHS Secretary RFK Jr.'s concerns over vaccines. This delay has cost the US its seat on the Gavi board, and threatened the availability of vaccines for tens of millions of children.

During last week's hearings, Secretary Rubio, on multiple occasions, committed to getting the issue of Gavi funding resolved. He knows we should be funding Gavi and he has committed to it, personally. Please maintain pressure on Secretary Rubio to fulfill his word and release funding for Gavi, in line with the law, before it is too late. Our investment in Gavi protects the health of Americans and people all over the world. We cannot delay any further — lives are at stake.
