Demand world leaders tell the truth on climate promises
Petra Schmitter / IWMI / Ethiopia

A shocking new ONE report reveals that rich countries are spending a lot less than they claim to support those most affected by climate change. Putting millions of lives at risk.

Messy data and limited transparency means no one really knows how much is being spent to fight the climate crisis. Nearly two-thirds of the climate funding promised either hasn’t been delivered or didn’t have anything to do with climate in the first place.

Countries that did the least to cause global warming but face its worst effects are left in the dark, unable to plan or budget for climate projects. Even worse, many countries are spending more to pay back debt to rich countries than they receive in climate funds.

This is an injustice, and we’ve spent hundreds of hours digging through the data to prove it. Add your name to demand world leaders keep their climate funding promises.

Dear world leaders,

We demand that you deliver on your climate promises to those most at risk from climate change. We call on you to be fully transparent, to provide more timely data, and to support proper reporting standards. We urge you to agree on more ambitious funding goals that meet the needs of climate-vulnerable countries.
