Keir Starmer: Protect lives. Finish the fight against deadly diseases.
The Global Fund has saved over 70 million lives and is one of Britain’s proudest legacies.
But right now, that legacy is at risk. We fear the Government could pull £200 million from the UK’s £1 billion commitment.
A cut that would cost 340,000 lives.
We’re closer than ever to beating diseases like HIV, TB and malaria. But if we step back now, these diseases will spread again. Children who could have been protected will die. It’s a dangerous, unnecessary gamble.
If we step up, the rewards are huge: healthier families, stronger communities, and fewer outbreaks that cross borders. With medical breakthroughs advancing faster than ever, this is the time to commit, not retreat.
The UK can afford this, but millions of people can’t afford for us to walk away.
Keir Starmer: Deliver at least £1 billion to the Global Fund and rally other leaders to deliver their fair share.
