Twenty years ago, Nelson Mandela called on a generation to be great and make poverty history. His call inspired millions to demand justice and has helped create economic opportunities and healthier lives across the world. Child mortality has halved, AIDS deaths have plummeted, and millions have escaped extreme poverty. But we’re not done.

Mandela said: As long as poverty, injustice and gross inequality persist in our world, none of us can truly rest.

Today's challenges know no borders. In the face of climate change, pandemics, conflict and economic breakdown, global cooperation is not just a moral imperative. It makes our world safer and stronger for all of us.
